I love my Phoebe!!

I snapped SUCH a cute picture of my kitty the other day. I held her up in front of my webcam and she looked right at it. Just have to share :)

Smile Phoebe!!!

I also love this shot of myself at the same time... in one of my new shirts. I've made this my profile pic pretty much, well, everywhere. Haha.

Surprise!

Ohhh man these repairs going on around here have been a blast. Literally. Yesterday without warning they ripped up our front walk. And the neighbors. So now we have to walk through thick prickly evergreen bushes to leave the house, because we have no back door :-/ Well we have a back door technically, but no way to exit our yard.

First of all, we rent. So none of these improvements really benefit us too much, except for maybe the new windows which will help our home's energy efficiency. What happened is, the builder was crappy. The homeowner's association sued the builder and won. So all summer long they have been fixing things. It's been very inconvenient. The neighborhood has been FULL of workers, trucks, bulldozers, making it impossible to find parking spots and sometimes to drive where we need to drive, or to get our mail. It's been messy, dirty, debris everywhere. Throughout the summer they have replaced our entire roof, done our gutters, and replaced part of our driveway. Now they have started another round on our building. Monday they ripped all the windows off the back of the house (without much warning) and replaced them. They left debris all over our back deck, and they dropped things from 2nd floor, damaging our patio furniture. It was also lovely when they did the sliding door in the kitchen and then suddenly 6 workers are hanging out in my kitchen without me letting them in. Such a weird and uncomfortable feeling. The next day, they came into my house to put plastic down for an upcoming crawlspace repair. They will still have to come in to seal all the windows from the inside.

Now they have done the windows on the front of the house... and yesterday the front walkway demo. Looks like today they might pour the new stuff, but who knows around here.

Upcoming - they are still replacing all the siding on the house AND repainting the whole house.

They already owe us for damaged patio furniture, and a sensor for our alarm system. There was a sensor on the sliding door. the wire is just hanging there now and they threw the old door away with the sensor on it. That's $90 that I'm not paying for!

Sorry - it just feels so good to vent. I will be so happy when all of this is over. Our landlords have been awesome and tried so hard to help us through this, but it's not their decision either, we all just have to deal.

My First Computer ~ Christmas 1984

My First Computer

This photo is from my 2nd Christmas in 1984 when I received my very first computer ;) OK, it's a toy computer. But I'm telling you, the obsession started early!!! By the time I was 4 years old I was using a real computer... one of these guys:

I have always been a computer geek. My dad was into computers and I followed suit. His job provided him with a home computer, which was Mac because Mac was THE computer in those days :) Almost everyone had one. I remember going to a friend's house in like 4th grade and they had an IBM computer. You had to TYPE in DOS commands just to turn it on? To run games? Ridiculous. :)

I have many fond memories of going to the Egghead store with my dad on weekends as I was growing up. They don't have that store anymore... it was a computer supply store with games, printer paper, floppy disks and more! We would browse games and always leave with printer paper, which I loved to color on and loved using it to print banners because it was the kind of paper that stayed connected. Remember that stuff?

I just love computers and always have. It's kind of fun to see how it all started :) I hope someday I come across photos of me using a real computer at such a young age, but I'm not sure if there are any. I hope so!

Phoebe's 1st Vet Trip & Spa Night for Me!

Welcome to my Manic Monday post! Man today really did feel like a Manic Monday. I went from one thing to the next all day long. There are two things I really want to share from today.

Firstly, I took my cat Phoebe to the vet. This was her first time ever going (since I have owned her, anyway.) She has been losing some fur around her eyes and this is the 2nd time it's happened so I was worried about her. Luckily it turns out she is fine. I was SO PROUD of her today. She was SUCH a good girl and so well behaved and cooperative. She let the vet check her out and pick her up and do all kinds of uncomfortable looking things. Then she had to get shots, poor baby... I was so proud of her.

Here are a couple pics from the vet's office.

This evening my new friend April had this awesome spa night party at her place! She had the girl who does her waxing come over, and that girl knew a girl that did rockstar nails... add in some food and bam! you got a party! I had my eyebrows waxed again... so in love with them. It hurts but it is worth it. It's been a month or two since I had them done. Some people may have noticed my eyebrows were losing weight too LOL! Anyway I also had my toenails done - have you heard of Rockstar nails? It's popular in California I guess. Some are acrylic and that's tough on your nails but these ones are done with a gel. It stays on for 6-8 weeks! I love how sparkly they are.

Some pics from the party:

It's been a busy but really good day :)

The Beach in Santa Cruz, CA 1985

Santa Cruz Beach 1985

This is another photo from the same trip to the beach that I shared last week. I have many photos from this trip that I really love!! This one is my grandma and me and she is leading me into the water. Only now do I fully grasp how special it is that she used to always go into the water with me ~ because now I know she really doesn't like getting wet or swimming! But I always did, and so she would take me. That is so special for me to know. My grandma is 92 years old now and still doing great. She now lives here in Colorado which means no more trips to her beach ~ but it is so nice to have her close by!!

Don't forget to stop by my hubbys & my other blog... Ian & Christie... to see another Flashback today!

New Greece & Turkey Pages

The past couple days I've been getting my scrapping groove back! My friend Chrissy and I both have albums we want to finish so we are really focusing on that. I realized I had about 10 layouts left to do to completely finish my Greece & Turkey album. Since that trip was 3 years ago it is really time to get it done!! I can't wait to have it all finished... then I can start on our Alaska trip that was already over a year ago.... lol.

Anyway, here are all of my new pages!
