Trust Me

I just have to share this ad. No offense to PC users :) But this is totally how I feel!

Hehe, the end makes me laugh.

I am thinking about getting an iMac soon, maybe around Christmas. The more I get into web design stuff the more important it's going to be. The new iMacs are gorgeous... just saw a couple in the Apple store yesterday.

Man, scrapbooking on this would be awesome :-D

I started school again yesterday and I'm excited to be learning more. I'm really enjoying all of this so far.

My mom is coming over today to help me put together more stuff for our office, including our new desk chairs! Soon I'll be able to sit at my new desk. I'm looking forward to it :)

I have so much catching up I want to do with blogging, and I really want to blog more often. I will be making an effort to do so!

I'm in Utah!

Hey all.... sorry you haven't heard from me but it has been a very busy week!! I will soon be blogging all about the move. It went fairly smoothly but it was long and exhausting... whew!! Then we spent a couple days getting organized and unpacked (we are nowhere near finished, but it's moving along) and finishing up totally clearing out the old house of trash and debris (mostly junk left by the owners before Ian.)
Closing went fine on Thursday and everything went according to plan. Then yesterday, we took off to Utah! We had a long day of driving but made it here just fine. We spent today at IKEA buying office furniture for our home office. We have a very tiny room and need work stations for both of us, and IKEA was just the place... but we had to come to Utah to go there. Tomorrow we plan to drive and see some scenery, and we should be home Monday night. I hope to have a lot more blogging and pictures going on soon! I've been on a short break from classes but I start again this coming Wednesday, so I am going to try to get as much done on the computer as I can before then!

Inside Our New Place

I posted this on Ian&Christie the other day but forgot to post it up here.

Also, if you haven't already, check out the next post down - I posted about how I was on the radio today!

Things are moving along here and we finally have photos to share of the inside of our new place. The living room and kitchen are generously sized and we have a big enough deck in the back to still throw some BBQ's! :) We have 3 bedrooms and 1 bath, as well as a 1 car garage. Hope you like it!

The End :)
Or I guess the beginning! We will post pics again when we are all moved in and set up.

Hit the Airwaves

I was on the radio today!!! This was the first time I've ever called into the radio station in my life, and they put my call on the air! :)

Here in Denver there's a station called Alice 105.9 and there's a show by these guys Slacker & Steve which is on every day for the after-work rush hour. They had a guy call in for dating advice... he is a widower - his wife died 5 years ago - and he has 2 daughters ages 9 and 12. He said he has no problem getting first dates, but because he is upfront and honest about his situation, there tend to be no second dates. He just can't seem to find any women who are okay with his situation and that it's too much baggage for them to take on.

They asked him a bunch of questions and it didn't sound like he was a downer or overly intense about his story, so they weren't sure why it was scaring women off. I was sitting there thinking, he's a good looking guy who has no problem getting dates, so he has probably never tried online dating. The great thing about online dating is people are searching for you with check boxes... so someone would only see his profile if they aren't discounting widowers and men with children. Furthermore he can write up his profile sharing his story, and also sharing the upside/fun things about himself... and if someone contacts him, they are already okay with his situation.

I said he doesn't need to give up meeting people elsewhere, but that he might have better luck online where he can weed people out and he won't keep wasting his time on a bunch of first dates that never go anywhere.

They seemed to think my idea was okay, I was on the air for about 3 minutes I think. I am glad I called in and I hope the guy will take my suggestion. It felt pretty cool that they put me on the air :) There is a lag so I turned the radio back up as soon as they hung up and I heard the last 10 seconds of my call. Neat :)
